Lamentable

Bexhill-on-sea, East Sussex, the concept of the new wave
There is a theory that the coastal resorts are outdated, unpopular and in need of major investment. This can be seen around the coast with a selection of projects where money has been thrown by central government, local government and the EU at a range of often poorly conceived and even more poorly constructed projects. Unfortunately Bexhills 'New Wave' falls into both of these categories. This Blog will document the last parts of the build and will put forward my views on everything. I would add here that I have no real axe to grind other than that the Local Council through its public consultation exercises have learnt nothing, have not responded to any lessons learnt elsewhere, or listened to the advice given by people who know (me being one) and are content on pushing a project that feels misguided, unfocussed and poorly managed. Public Space has to be more that just a repetitive collection of objects (although this ensures that the budget is well and truly spent) it most respond to its primary function of being a memorable, identifiable and usable venue that responds to its context.
